Love2Smile
My 9th grader would like to take a Creative Writing Course. She already write stories, and short novels. She is quite good, so we want to turn it into an elective. Can you recommend a curriculum or books for this?
Kareni
Hewitt homeschooling has a Creative Writing syllabus. Regards, Kareni
elegantlion
There is also the One Year Adventure novel. I have not used it but you can send away for a free DVD explaining the program.
mrscopterdoc
+bump+ Does anyone else have any more ideas? The One Year Adventure Novel is a bit pricey for me, and the Hewitt Syllabus is only $5, but between shipping and taxes it will be well over $20....for a $5 book. :tongue_smilie:
Kareni
Another thought is that the NaNoWriMo site might have some free resources. Also, if you use a search engine with the words ""creative writing" syllabus," you might find some helpful resources. Google gives 187,000 hits for this expression. Cindy in NY
I haven't looked at it but Connect the Thoughts has creative writing.
mrscopterdoc
Thanks Kareni, my daughter is already on NaNoWriMo, but it's always good to look there. Cindy, and anyone else interested....I went to Connect the Thoughts and from what I can see they have a wonderful creative writing curriculum, exactly what I was looking for. Thank you!! The first five levels are normally sold for $440 but right now they have a bundle sale..all for $63!! A savings of over $300! It comes in a downloadable file so all you have to do is print it off. It is 280-470 hours worth of lessons. An incredible savings if anyone is interested.
MelanieM
The NaNoWriMo Young Writer's Program has some excellent workbooks that you can use as a creative writing curriculum. Fun and free! :D
