danybug
I just finished the fabulous book, The Family by J.R. Miller. http://www.amazon.com/Family-J-R-Miller/dp/1934554383/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1260733616&sr=8-1 Every page was filled with such uplifting and beautiful eloquence on the roles in the Christian family and home. The book is a Christian book from the 1880's. It was a quick read and it was just so lovely. I told my husband that it is the best description on marriage that I have come across. The chapter are broken into: wedded life, husband's part, wife's part, parent's part, children's part, brothers and sisters, home-life, religion in the home, and home memories. I highly recommend it to every Christian family! The book was in no way dated or preachy. Truly a book every family should use to shape their relationships, values and experiences! Had to share :D
Kathleen in VA
This is a great book. My church gave a copy to every family in our church. Vision Forum used to publish it under the title Homemaking but they've recently changed the title back to its original. The book is so practical and convicting - full of wisdom. I think this is one of the best books ever written on the Christian family.
