KarenC
Has anyone used Smarr's Intro to Literature for an 8th grader? My dd is a strong reader and writer. Would this be a good choice for her? Thanks, Karen

Susie-Knits
I used it in 9th grade with my oldest several years ago. It was a good match for him at the time and we liked it though we moved to Lightning Lit in the following years. Guess my suggestion would be to look at the volume of reading, do you think she is up for that? If my memory serves me right, the writing was one paper for every 2 works read and ended up to be about 8 literary analysis papers plus a bit of grammar work. For my children when in 8th grade, reading would have been no problem but the issue would have been the quality/quantity of writing especially literary analysis style essays. But as with any curriculum, you can work it they way that would benefit your child. That is a beauty of homeschooling!
