Kinetic Books Math question....

Recommended Posts

My oldest did pre-algebra at the ps and then did Jacobs Algebra at home.

My middle just did one month of aleks pre-algebra (hated it) and then worked through Math Smart Junior. After that, she was fully ready to start algebra. She was young (about to turn 12yo), but she was definitely ready to move on in math. She ended up spending two years in Algebra, but she was working in two programs the first year (Kinetic books and Jacobs). She dropped Jacobs the 2nd year and finished up with just Kinetic Books.

My youngest is working in Lial's Basic College Mathematics along with the Key to Fractions, Decimals, Percents, and Algebra books. She hit another wall when she was almost done with Singapore 5B, so I decided to stop Singapore again and try the list of programs I put in the first paragraph. She does each of the programs one day/week for 25 minutes. That appears to be working well for now.

I know that I could just put her in Lial's, but she's only in 6th grade and is not the math whiz that her sisters have always been. I figured this will cover all the bases, but take a long enough time that she won't fly through it. It should take her the rest of 6th grade and all of 7th grade to finish all of these. It may even take her partway into 8th grade.
