Philothea
While I do not have to file yet, this year my oldest child will be 5. We currently live in the general Newburyport-Cape Ann area, where homeschooling is accepted and the communities are generally supportive. There is also a lot to do in this area. However, we need to move in order to keep up with the cost of living. We are considering either the Leominster or Worcester area. Can anyone give me any clues or advice as to the homeschooling climate in those areas? Also, does anyone think that the compulsory attendance age is going to be lowered at some point? Osmosis Mom
I have not heard any such thing. I send in my letter of intent the year my child turns six. BTW, have you considered moving a bit north (20 minutes from your area) to NH? Also no problem hs'ing here plus safe area with nice housing that's more affordable compared to your present area. Philothea
We have to stay in-state for tuition benefits and because we are going to be doing shared living with a disabled adult. There are a few more considerations as well, but we need to stay in MA-- as much as I love NH.
