Leanna Tomlinson
I am busily writing a recommendation for one of my co-op students who is a National Merit Semifinalist. I'm having trouble closing the letter. Do I state that I recommend her for the scholarship? Most samples I see online close with a recommendation that the student be accecpted by XYZ university, but I don't see any samples for recommendation letters for scholarships. Is it just enough to close with "It has been an honor to work with E for the past four years and I am confident she will excel in her college academic experience." I really like the rest of my letter, but I just can't come up with a closing that pleases me! HELP! Leanna

Leanna Tomlinson
I like the ending you have! Thanks! I just quit obsessing over it and mailed it with that closing. I just want to do everything I can for her because she is so deserving of a scholarship.
Kareni
I know your letter is underway, Leanna, and I agree that your ending sounded fine. I'll include the following link from MIT which gives suggestions on writing a letter of recommendation. Perhaps it will help someone else.
