Tree House Academy
My dh called just now and informed me that the daughter of a co-worker has a confirmed case of swine flu (as in she tested positive and they sent it off to Nashville for confirmation). It apparently only took 7 days to confirm it (does this sound accurate?). My question is...obviously this man goes home where he is around his daughter. His dd has been sick since last weekend and all this week, he has come to work (with my dh). If this man was going to get it, wouldn't he have done so by now (7 days since his dd showed symptoms)? The other kids in the family aren't sick either. Her case is terribly mild - he said it was more like seasonal allergies than the flu! So..should I consider us exposed via dh? Should I consider dh exposed via co-worker? Should I just :chillpill:? Edited September 10, 2009 by Tree House Academy
Pamela H in Texas
No, I wouldn't consider y'all exposed. That was wishful thinking (I'm assuming you were hoping that you were exposed, didn't succumb to it, but ideally would be immune this fall). Sorry. Tree House Academy
I assume we will be exposed at some point (won't we all be?). I am concerned about my ds10 who has an extremely robust immune system at this point (that sounds so crazy!), but getting it over with and everyone living through it sure would help to ease my hypochondriac brain!
