Holly IN
Anybody know how to adjust the credit from TOG's transcript paper they have on the loom and the Write at home credit? I know something has to be cut in the area of writing but what and how. Thanks! Holly

momee
Sorry but I don't understand what you're asking. Most of the credit issues are addressed on the loom documents. Would you reword what you're looking for help with exactly, sorry.
Holly IN
ok TOG has an English credit as stated on the credit explaination on the loom. This includes the writing. There is an honors credit if there are at least 30 papers written and all 36 weeks done. Now I understand that. However if I wanted to add the Write at home class called the Comp 1 foundations for my 9th grader then do I need to cut some of the writing assignments out of TOG so he can do the required assignments and still come up with 30 papers for Honors English? momee
From their website, this is what's gone over among other things... These include: Two narrative papers , One descriptive papers, One expository papers, One persuasive papers, One timed test essay Alot of the basic stuff like writing process and use of words, sentence formation is at the beginning of the writing assignments in TOG each year just at diff levels. I see that too is taught in this class so just skip writing those TOG weeks. If it were me, I would stay in one camp for ease of planning, either using TOG or WAH. Once the foundations are secure and I felt my student was ready, we'd move to using WAH with TOG and their grading service. To answer your question though - just eliminate the repetitive assignments in TOG. My 10th grader is doing a writing class and will STILL have writing assignments to go with history and lit. From what I've read this is one area that he will need to be very proficient at so too much isn't too much, kwim? Think about it, they write in history on top of writing in english so doing a history paper with TOG could just be history work, not english if the child balks about doing two assignments. Hth??? Holly IN
hhmmm Well, I think I will need to stick with TOG for writing and supplement it with Jensen's for a while then maybe consider WAH for 2nd semester. Thanks!! Holly
