brendafromtenn
Well, thought I had next year all figured out.....Had Apologia Physics purchased for oldest ds. And then today happened......Went to the used curriculum sale and saw one of the moms of a student that is in ds's honor society. She tells me that she is organizing a physics class for her son AND in addition to that, her friend, who by the way has her doctorate in physics and used to teach at Christian Brothers University in Memphis, is going to teach the class.:blink:What! Would my son want to participate with them? BUT, they will use Abeka Physics....We have NEVER used any Abeka for science. We have used Apologia or BJU for science. Anyone have experience with Abeka? What would you do? Would you just go with your original plan with the Apologia or go with the Abeka and the small lab class? And guess what.....oldest ds can DRIVE HIMSELF!!!! Blessings, Brenda:)
HiddenJewel
Even though I use BJU for science, I would go with the co-op class in a heartbeat if it was a group I liked.
FloridaLisa
I would call that divine provision. :001_smile: I've only used Abeka for one class in all these years (the co-op teacher selected it). Oh, actually twice as I used the English waaaaay back when we started. But, everything I've seen from Abeka certainly seems solid. And if you like the instructor once you meet him/her, I would guess that s/he's comfortable with the text. What a blessing! Lisa
Carol in Cal.
is there any question, really??? What was the question? No, I don't think there is a question!:001_smile:
Julie of KY
I don't have anything against Abeka physics, so I would base my decision more on whether you want him to participate in the group, finances, time, etc.

brendafromtenn
Well allrighty then! Sounds like we need to go check this out further, what cha think? DS wants to go talk to the teacher and see a text book. Sounds like a good game plan. Thanks for all the encouragement! sing4jy
I know this is an old post, but I am wondering if you can come back and comment on what you decided? If you did do the co-op, did the teacher like the A Beka text? I'm trying to decide between BJU physics and A Beka Physics and would love some input.
