Guest waters4us5
I was wondering if anyone has a book that could be recommended to help put a high school portfolio together. I've never had the opportunity to see one before and I would really appreciate some guidance with this project. Thank you very much! MamaT
I like And What About College by Cafi Cohen. I put my older son's transcripts together using this book.

Kareni
You might find the following book of interest: Homeschooler's Guide to Portfolios and Transcripts by Loretta Heuer It appears to be out of print, but perhaps you could locate a copy through inter-library loan. Nan in Mass
This is a great book. I wish I'd taken TWTM advice and gotten it early on. It helps you define your educational goals. It helps you to work backwards from goals to work to transcript. It has a nice section about what colleges are looking for and how to show colleges your child can do that. It works for both traditional and non-traditional educations. And, in case you don't get it until the end when suddenly you are wondering if you actually accomplished anything and are panicking, it has a nice section on how to figure out what you did and find proof of it. I ordered it used through Alibris. HTH -Nan

Nan in Mass
The Homeschooler's Guide... Not that I didn't like the Cafi Cohen book, also.
