Anyone here have their dc do TT Algebra 1 & TT Geometry simultaneously? Please share!

We started this a few months ago. Not really scheduling it, just Alg2 3-4x per week and Geometry 2x per week. She won't be done with Geometry in time for the PSAT in October but she will have gotten pretty far!

At her current pace, she will finish Alg2 sometime this summer and Geometry before the new year. At least I think so - she is motivated so she is more on top of it than I am!

I wanted my oldest to do this but she struggled in math and was not willing to put in the extra effort....probably why her SAT results were 780W/ 760CR but only 540M. My next daughter is not weak in math, probably average, but wants to do better on her SAT as she has her eye on more scholarship money!

hth.

My older dd did this with TT Algebra 2 and Geometry. She would do the algebra on MWF and geometry T/Th one week, and the next week she would flip that so geometry got done three times that week and algebra twice.

The plan was to do this over a two year period and so complete both texts, but she wasn't a math person and wasn't understanding a lot of it, so she called it quits after the first year. She finished these subjects off with Life of Fred at the end of high school and understood those texts much better. (but she still did them at the same time)

Ds is currently in TT Algebra I. When he finishes I am planning to have him do TT Algebra II and TT Geometry concurrently. I am going to give him the option to either alternate days, weeks, or chapters. I may let him try out the different options to figure out what works for him. He is very responsible about doing his work and one of the things I love about TT is how easy it is for him to take ownership of it. My understanding is that it is better to complete Algebra I before doing Geometry.
