Christy B
Is it my imagination or does Notgrass cover more non-western cultures than Omnibus?
debbiec
Christy, I don't know anything about Notgrass (except their TN history curriculum), but Omnibus is a focus intentionally on Western Civ. No secret there.
Christy B
Christy, I don't know anything about Notgrass (except their TN history curriculum), but Omnibus is a focus intentionally on Western Civ. No secret there. Well, I don't know why it didn't register with me . . . I knew the Veritas Press cards were very heavy on the Western Civ . . . and I've looked at the table of contents for all three volumes of Omni, but I didn't really pick up on it until I was comparing it side by side with the table of contents for Notgrass. The Spielvogel book Omni uses as a spine is even titled "Western Civilization". You're right, it's no secret, the VP catalog even discusses the focus on Western Civ, if I'm not mistaken. I get distracted by the pretty books. :) So, what are the pros and cons of a Western Civ focus vs a broader focus? I think I lean toward wanting a broader focus (seeing as how the Middle East is turning out to be pretty significant in our lifetime).
