  1. I just looked an it says it's currently unavailable. Here is the link to their store.
  2. I've been using Nuud no weird ingredients, no fragrance. I only have to put it on twice a week in the winter and maybe 4 times a week in the summer so it last forever. I would order off Amazon not their website because it ships from the EU and takes forever to get here if you order from the website.
  3. I've banked online for more than a decade and have never paid a fee for my account. They might charge for a book of checks but I've been using the same checkbook for 10 years now so I'm not too worried about that. I haven't needed to write a check in probably 5 yrs.
  4. This is so weird to me. Here people are outside everyday. Yes, even when it's raining. People walking dogs, kids walking or biking to school, moms pushing strollers, people running for exercise, walking for exercise, etc. When the sun comes out the entire neighborhood goes outside.
  5. It can be done fairly easily here in Seattle. Much easier if you're in the city proper but still doable in many of the surrounding suburbs. I live in an Eastside suburb and can walk to just about everything I need including a movie theater, a live theater, several grocery stores, Costco, the library, Target, Trader Joes, and about 20 different restaurants. My kids all walked to school every single day. I live a block from a bus stop that will take me right into Seattle, I took the bus anytime I needed to go into the office when I worked downtown. We also have an extensive paved bike path network. I could bike from my house to my new office 20 miles north of me in a different suburb and almost never have to be on a road. We don't have to worry about being sweaty here except a few months out of the year. You'd be more likely to be wet from getting rained on than sweaty. I think a lot of employers have facilities where you could shower and change, certainly all the big name employers here like Amazon and Microsoft. I currently work for a very small firm and even we have a shower. My oldest lives in Portland, OR without a car without any issues. She takes Amtrak when she comes to visit us and we pick her up from the station, although she could just get on a bus and get off a block from us.
  6. They have stand alone subscriptions or AppleOne which can bundle up to 6 services for one price. You are likely looking at the AppleOne subscriptions. I just went to Apple's website and it says Apple tv starts at 9.99 per month. We pay for both music and tv as standalone subscriptions.
  7. I use Mad Hippie for face wash and moisturizer. I also use Biologique Recherche face masks, night cream and eye cream. For makeup I switched to Jones Road last year and really love it. I use the WTF, face pencil, and miracle balm. I wasn't thrilled with their mascara or eyeshadow though. I think I need to switch to a cream eyeshadow because powder is making my eyes look old lately!
  8. I want communication and to know where the communication is going to be. Is it only going up on the city website or will it also be on social media, text alerts etc. I hate having to check 5 places before I find the info.
  9. I thought all states had an alternate track. Here you need Alg 1 and geometry and then you can take either Alg 2 or financial math and still graduate and go to college. 2 of my 4 kids did the financial math class and neither of them had any trouble in college. They aren't doing math heavy degrees but 1 of them had to take stats and even without Alg 2 she is doing just fine. The real problem though isn't Alg 2 it's the abysmal way we teach grade school math! We need to revamp the entire grade school curriculum before we talk about getting rid of higher math classes. That said I think all states need to adopt an alternate track so lives don't get derailed b/c of 1 class.
  10. I went back to school and became an accountant. It was important to me to pick something that paid well and also had decent career prospects. Turns out there is a huge shortage of accountants that has only gotten worse since the pandemic. To pay for school I got a retail job and that gave me more recent work experience and references. While I was in school I volunteered for a low income tax program which got me accounting experience. I had no problem finding a job once I was out of school and I now make a six figure salary all by myself.
  11. We were 34 had been married 12 years and had 4 kids. We had it for 3 years had to sell at a loss and have never been able to buy again.
  12. I finished Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell by Susanna Clarke this afternoon and I absolutely loved it! It was a little slow at the beginning but it picked up and I was racing to the finish. I also rented the BBC miniseries from the library and have watched the first 4 episodes already! So far it is following the book very closely. 4 stars. I also finished Enchantment by Katherine May. I didn't like this one as much as I did her other book Wintering. 3 stars.
  13. It's not just bottled water, plastic is in everything. Check out this report https://www.reuters.com/business/healthcare-pharmaceuticals/consumer-reports-finds-widespread-presence-plastics-food-2024-01-04/ 84 out of 85 food they tested had plastic in it.
  14. As an accountant I do their taxes for them. Then we go over it in detail just like I would with a client.
